NCAR Opens New Charity Shop

North Clwyd Animal Rescue (NCAR) has officially opened the doors to its brand-new charity shop at 126 High Street, Prestatyn, in the former premises of Antonio’s Flowers and Gifts. The shop was launched with an official ribbon-cutting ceremony on September 1st, led by the Mayor of Prestatyn, Cllr Carol Holliday, following a successful “soft opening” during the August bank holiday.

A Bigger, Brighter Home for Charity Shopping

The new NCAR Prestatyn charity shop brings together the charity’s two previous High Street locations into one larger, modern space. The shops at 36 High Street (in the precinct) and 115-119 High Street have now closed, allowing the team to focus their efforts on this spacious new flagship store.

Owain Horton from NCAR explained the move:

“We decided to combine all of our buildings into one. We’ve got more floor space, and more room upstairs. We want to do more online sales and use the area upstairs for that. That’s where everything is nowadays – everything’s ordered online. People can also donate items here, especially good-quality clothing, electrics, or bric-a-brac.”

Shop Opening Times

The new North Clwyd Animal Rescue shop in Prestatyn will be open:

• Monday to Saturday
• 9:30am – 4:00pm

Shoppers will find a fantastic mix of second-hand treasures, including clothing, homeware, books, and unique items – with all proceeds going directly towards helping homeless and unwanted animals in the region.

Supporting Local Animals Since 1984

Founded in 1984, North Clwyd Animal Rescue has been a lifeline for animals across North Wales, providing shelter, care, and rehoming opportunities for pets whose owners can no longer keep them. In addition to the new Prestatyn shop, NCAR also runs charity shops in Abergele, Mold, Denbigh, Holywell, and Rhuddlan, meaning there are plenty of ways for the community to shop sustainably while supporting a great cause.

How You Can Help
