What's involved

We have vacancies for voluntary staff in our catteries.

This position requires commitment.  As part of a roster of staff you would need to notify NCAR as soon as possible if you are unable to attend for your sessions rostered with the cats as another worker will be needed to fill your place.  The vacancies are between 8.30am and 12pm, particularly on a Friday.  Initially it would be a weekly shift for a minimum of three hours for at least three months.

Duties include:-

• Strict routine cleaning
• Scrubbing litter trays
• Providing fresh litter
• Feeding and providing fresh water
• Washing dishes
• Laundry
• Sweeping and mopping
• Providing toys
• Socialising and comforting cats

All necessary training would be provided.

This job is repetitive with bending and lifting so requires a good level of fitness.  There is high animal contact.
