Lady Lurcher garden

The Lady Lurcher Garden at North Clwyd Animal Rescue is a truly unique and special place, designed specifically to provide our canine residents with a sensory experience they won’t forget. This garden holds a very special place in our hearts, as it’s named after Lady the Lurcher, who was the very reason why NCAR exists today. Lady was a stray who arrived on the doorstep of our founder, Anne Owen, in 1978. She was homeless and had nowhere else to go, and it was her arrival that led to the creation of NCAR.

The sensory garden was created in honor of Lady, as we believe she would have loved it. But it is not just a sensory garden – it is also a memorial garden that serves as a tribute to our past residents who are no longer with us but are never forgotten. We are proud to have such a special place on our grounds, and we hope that it brings joy and comfort to all who visit.

If you’re passionate about gardening, we would love to have you volunteer with us to help maintain this beautiful garden. We are always on the lookout for enthusiastic volunteers, and your time and effort will be greatly appreciated. Whether you have a green thumb or simply enjoy being outdoors, you will be warmly welcomed as a part of our team. Thank you for considering joining us!
