North Clwyd Animal Rescue is an animal charity that rescues animals in North Wales. We are registered with the Charities Commission, and our registration number, 515195. Our utmost goal is to keep your privacy safe and sound, so you can always feel comfortable with us.

When you complete a form on our website to adopt an animal, we will gather essential details about you such as your name, email address, phone number, and postal address, as well as information about your living situation, lifestyle, and experience with animals. For volunteering, inquiring about our educational program or rehoming your dog, we will also collect your basic information, including your name, email address, phone number, and postal address. If you decide to donate or make a payment via our website, we will collect your name and email address, while our third-party payment processors will handle your payment information. Furthermore, if you choose to participate in Gift Aid or purchase an item from our shop, we will require your home address for the purposes of claiming Gift Aid or delivering your purchased items.

What are cookies and how do we use them?

In order to facilitate credit card payments, we utilize cookies, which are small text files that are downloaded onto your device. Additionally, we use Google Analytics to record information and visitor behaviour when you browse our website. While this information does not reveal the identity of individuals, it does allow us to gather valuable insights, such as the number of visitors to our website.

What do we do with your information?

Your information will solely be utilized to contact you about relevant adoption opportunities, volunteering, rehoming your pet, or information on our education programme if you have demonstrated interest in any of these areas. Additionally, we will utilize your information to process any payments or orders you have placed and to claim any applicable Gift Aid.


How long do we keep your information?

Rest assured that we will not hold onto your information longer than necessary. If you decide to adopt a pet from us, we will keep your information for the duration of the animal’s life. Similarly, if you rehome your pet through us, we will keep your information on file for the animal’s life in the event that we need to contact you regarding its history. If you volunteer or foster with us, we will retain your information while you are an active participant. In the case of our education programme, we will hold onto your information as long as you remain interested. We will follow financial record-keeping laws and maintain payment information accordingly, including Gift Aid claims. Any other personal data you share with us will not be kept beyond 90 days, unless you have expressly consented to further communication.
How do we share, store, protect and process your information?

Your personal information is safe with us and we do not engage in selling it to third parties. We are committed to keeping your data secure by restricting access and storing it securely. In the event that a home check, we only share your information with a trusted volunteer for that purpose only. To store and process data such as web hosting, email services, and database storage, we may enlist the help of service providers who are compliant with GDPR regulations and are based in the EEA or in countries recognized by The European Commission as providing adequate data protection. In the event that they are in the US, they will be part of the EU-US Privacy Shield Framework.
