Winston is a lovely dog who was returned to the rescue because his previous owner had longer working hours and couldn’t leave him alone. Therefore, he requires a home where someone can be present for most of the day. Unfortunately, he is currently overweight because he wasn’t exercised in his previous home, which has resulted to him struggling with the outside world, especially busy environments.

We are currently working on building his confidence when out of his kennel, but it will be necessary for any potential adopter to continue this work to help him enjoy his daily walks. We have been introducing Winston to other dogs slowly over time and he has come on leaps and bounds, we feel he is best suited to a home as the only pet but it is important that socialisation is continued when he goes to a new home.

In his previous home, he displayed some aggression towards visitors and neighbours, so we will be seeking a home that can effectively manage this and build his confidence. If you are interested in adopting Winston, you will need to visit the rescue multiple times, get to know him, and collaborate with our behaviour team to obtain the tools necessary to improve his quality of life.

Despite his anxiety issues, Winston is a beautiful boy who deserves the opportunity to enjoy his life.
