Oakley is a friendly, sweet greyhound who sadly arrived to the rescue as a stray. This means unfortunately we have no history on him. We hope he finds his forever home soon as he can have some home comforts.

Oakley is a friendly boy with everyone he has met so far, he’s a gentle giant but does like to jump up for a quick kiss! He walks very well on lead for his size, only slightly pulls when there is something interesting. He will need owners that can manage his size but generally he is a very well behaved boy.

We are looking at rehoming Oakley as an only dog as he can be a little nervous of dogs and we think he’d love to have all the home comforts to himself. He can be react to dogs on walks and can be a little intimidated of them when they’re barking or too boisterous. He is easily distracted with treats and does listen to you. He would love walks in quiet areas and a nice garden to play in. Based on his breed, he cannot be rehomed with cats. He also loves playing with toys, and enjoys playing off lead chase with a tennis ball in our paddock.

Oakley can be rehomed with children 12 + as he is a very sweet boy who loves cuddles and affection, but any children will need to respect his space while he is settling in the home. Typical for lurchers, but they do like spending time with people and he’ll be more suited to a home where he won’t be left alone too long.

His age is an estimate, unfortunately there was no date of birth on his microchip. Oakley does have issues with his legs, he is currently on daily paracetamol for some discomfort. We can go into his medical history more with anyone interested. We hope this doesn’t put anyone off as he is an amazing boy who very much wants some sofa cuddles and fusses.

Generally, he is a great lad who is already becoming a favourite with staff so we hope he isn’t here too long.
