Crosby is a handsome lad who came into our care as a stray, he was very scared and defensive during his first few days here so we have taken our time to get to know and assess him and now feel that he is ready to start the search for the right forever home.
He is a nervous lad with new people, but once he likes you, he’s your best friend. He loves treats and playing with you. His new home would need to be a quiet adult only home with people who are confident and experienced with dogs. He can be wary of new things and people, so he will need slow introductions to new things, and gradual introductions with people. It would help for him to be in a home that doesn’t have many vistors.
Crosby is a cheeky lad that everyone that mets him ends up loving him! He is a very silly boy, who likes when you blow rasberries at him and he loves the going on walks at the beach. He isn’t the smartest boy and can be silly and clumsy, but that’s all a part of the Crosby charm!
In general Crosby is quite a chilled low energy boy but he does love his walks and being out and about exploring. He does have bad legs and struggles with long distance walks / or difficult terrain, we can explain this to anyone interested in him, but sadly this will be a long term issue and affect his welfare as time continues. To manage this he would need short walks daily and potentially look suppliments to help with aches and pains. We hope this doesn’t put people off as he is a such a happy lad, and his legs doesn’t seem to bother or limit his enthusiasm.
He is looking for a home as the only pet and will need owners that are dedicated to being patient with him and working with him to help him grow in confidence further and thrive. He likes toys and is food motivated which will help with his training. Crosby can get over-excited at times and has mouthed arms on a few occasions so we will continue to assess him and work with him on this during his stay with us.
Crosby can be strong on lead so needs owners who are physically capable of handling him. He is looking to be the only pet in the home as he can be hit and miss when meeting dogs here on site. Anyone interested in rehoming Crosby must be willing to visit him a few times at our site in Trelogan to build a bond before taking him home. We know his rehoming requirements probably come across as being limited and specific but we have to get it right for him.
We really hope the right home comes along soon for him :).
