Chilli is an amazing boy who came to the rescue as a stray after being loose and unable to be captured for a week. He is a friendly boy, although on first arrival he was more nervous around men and could show some reactive behaviours. We have worked on this with him, and he now doesn’t show any negative reactions – although we would advise a plan of introductions to new people to encourage this positive socialisation. Chilli seems to be good with other dogs, if not a little full on, however, we do feel he needs alot more education and so would probably be better as the only dog for now. We will continue to assess this. He is quite a sensitive boy and does get stressed easily, and he does show some undesirable behaviours when stressed such as humping your leg. We are working through this with him, and we do expect these issues would be less prevalent in the home, however, due to this, we would be looking for a home without children and with confident handlers. He has now been neutered and we are hoping this will also help. Chilli has a lot to offer and is an absolute staff favourite. We really hope he isn’t waiting too long for his forever home.
