Buttercup is a lovely girl who originally arrived with us as a stray, she wasn’t claimed and we managed to find her a new home but unfortunately she was returned to us due to people assuming she is a Pitbull – she has been assessed by a behaviourist and also a Dog Licencing Officer with North Wales Police and has been deemed not ‘of type’ and is an American Bully (which we originally thought). She has sadly had her ears cropped which makes her look more intimidating – this isn’t her fault, but the fault of the people who originally owned her and it is sad that she is judged due to this. Buttercup is looking for owners that will advocate and defend her against peoples judgement, and just accept her for the dog that she is! Before she was returned to us her owners said that they were having some issues with her around other dogs which we have already started working on with her here but this will need continuing by new owners in her next home. Buttercup has been great around people here at the rescue but will need more confidence building in her next home and management so that she doesn’t start to guard. She is looking to be the only pet in her next home and can be rehomed with sensible teenagers 14+. Buttercup will need daily walks and mental stimulation to keep her satisfied! Overall she is a lovely girl and we really hope a suitable home comes along soon for her.
